Make a poster for police to check

Just found out someone is missing?
You don't need a poster yet. First, call police (911 if they could be in danger). Police may make their own poster. Come back here once police have told you what you're allowed to share.
How it works
  1. Copy the police details (Step 1 and 2).
  2. Add the police photo (Step 3).
  3. Tick the checks (Step 4).
  4. Print or save as PDF.

Want to see one first? Press “See an example”.

RCMP says to check with police before making your own poster, and to have them review it before you hand it out. Use the official police poster if there is one. The required fields are safety checks, not a legal checklist.

Only files saved from this tool, or a campaign website file. Opening a file doesn't approve anything.

Step 1: The police appeal

Step 2: Details police released

Leave a field empty if police haven't released it. Never guess, and never add a home address, medical information, witness details, accusations or a reward. Don't call it an AMBER Alert unless police issued one.

Step 3: Photo

The photo stays on your device. It's made smaller so it saves and opens quickly, but it isn't filtered or changed by AI, and hidden file data (like location) isn't copied. Check the background for other people or private details, and make sure you have permission to use it.

Step 4: Check before you print

These ticks are reminders, not proof that police approved the poster. Changing anything clears them.

Drafts and examples print with a draft label. To save as PDF: Letter, portrait, 100% scale, browser headers and footers off. Nothing is saved when you close the page, so use “Save poster file” to come back later, and keep the file private.
